My Journey Through the Wonderful World of Team Fortress 2 (And Why I Love It)

What is Team Fortress 2? Well, to put it simply, it's a fun, cartoonish, online first-person shooter. Why do I love it dearly, you may ask? Well, let me explain. Not only is its exciting, fast-paced gameplay one of its undying traits, but the game has so much to offer than just shooting. From multiple game modes such as the co-op Mann vs Machine, Medieval Mode, and PASS Time, to multiple hats to customize your character with, to a fun-loving community who are diehard fans of the game and help give you a good time playing it. But, that's not all. Let me explain to you how I discovered Team Fortress 2.
6-7 years ago, I was watching some comedic GMod and Source Filmmaker videos on YouTube when I discovered for the first time what the Team Fortress 2 mercenaries looked like. At first, I just thought of them as just simple characters. That was when I was wrong. When I dug in deeper into the characters, I discovered that they came from a videogame known as Team Fortress 2. Knowing that it must be a first-person shooter, past me wouldn't take an interest in first-person shooters, knowing that I suck at them back then.
After watching a bunch of TF2 videos, such as the Meet the Team adverts, I started to get interested. I then proceeded to learn more about Team Fortress 2 by reading the community-made official Wikipedia.
Then, after a while, I started to phase out of my love for TF2. My interest for it didn't spark again until a few days before New Years' Eve last year.
While I was searching for games to download for my laptop on Steam, I decided to search up some free-to-play games to download, such as Destiny 2 and CS:GO (which I deleted shortly after installation). After learning the ropes of the game, I suddenly started to get used to the mechanics and started enjoying the game! One month later, I started to downloads tons of mods for the game to enhance my gaming experience (though I deleted some of them a month after). And after some training and practice, I mastered some of the game's nine classes and main them. I usually main Pyro, Heavy, and Medic.
And that's how I came to know and love my favorite video game, Team Fortress 2. How about you, guys? Why don't you tell me how you came to know and love your favorite games? -JJ
